Villenave d'Ornon's International Relations policy, which began in the early 1980s, is part of European construction, which was initiated after the end of World War II, in particular Franco-German reconciliation.
It is in this movement, supported by the desire to open up to other European countries, that the twinning between Villenave d'Ornon and the municipalities of Seeheim-Jugenheim in Germany, Torres Vedras in Portugal and Bridgend in Wales began.
The many actions undertaken with the twinned towns, through the municipality's International Relations department and the Twinning Committee, have come to concretize these mergers.
These friendly relations thus contribute to the construction of a modern and social Europe, respectful of our traditions and of humanist values.

Fondée en 1992 dans le cadre des jumelages avec Seeheim-Jugenheim en Allemagne, Torres Vedras au Portugal et Bridgend au Pays de Galles, l'Ecole Municipale de Langues propose des cours en allemand, anglais, espagnol, italien et portugais pour les adultes et en anglais pour les enfants.
